Our own Alison Heinrich has been announced as the Sportsperson of the Year by the Onkaparinga City Council in their Australia Day Awards.  

Alison been competing in a Shooting Australia Air Pistol Tour and was not available to receive her award so it will be presented at a ceremony later in the year.  She has competed well on this tour with a 44th in the first qualification and 45th in the second qualification at the H&N Cup in Munich, finishing 15th in Ruse, Slovenia, and 11th in the ISSF Grand Prix also in Ruse.  Air Pistol is Alison's 2nd tier event but the exposure to the extra competition increases her tolerance to overseas competition and improves her overall performance.
